AhlulBayt News Agency: The Hamas Movement has urged the international community and the United Nations to take immediate action against what it calls Israel’s “deceptive and deadly” aid distribution system in Gaza, arguing that it violates humanitarian standards and serves as a tool for genocide.
The appeal follows a deadly incident on Tuesday morning near the Netzarim junction, south of Gaza City, where Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians attempting to collect US-branded humanitarian aid. Witnesses described the attack as a massacre, with at least 20 people killed and over 200 injured.
In a press statement, Hamas condemned the attack, calling it “a heinous war crime” and accusing Israeli forces of deliberately targeting starving civilians with live ammunition at an aid distribution site.
The Movement asserted that the incident is part of Israel’s broader policy of “mass murder and systematic starvation,” carried out in blatant violation of international law and humanitarian conventions.
“This bloody mechanism, disguised as humanitarian relief, has become a death trap,” the statement declared.
Hamas further stated that more than 150 people, including women and children, have been killed since the aid program began, proving that it is not genuine relief but rather a calculated effort to prolong suffering, weaken Palestinian resolve, and perpetuate genocide.
The attack comes amid Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza, which has resulted in over 180,000 Palestinian casualties since October 7, 2023, the majority of them women and children.
